And The Winners At The Oscars On Sunday Could Be…
At this very moment, it seems to be a no-brainer that the crowd-wooing La La Land will sweep the Academy Awards. But there could be suprises…
As the countdown to the 89th Oscar ceremony scheduled for February 26 (Sunday)
begins, the guessing game about the ‘sureshot’ winners is intensifying –
throughout the world.
Opinions of critics and assorted soothsayers is mixed but
not radically so. In the year gone by, the Hollywood output and that of other
nations which figure in the charmed roster of nominations, the themes and
styles have largely ranged from the dark to the darker.
In the event, the feel-wonderful rom-musical La La Land
could well dominate the globally-monitored Academy Awards ceremony which
will be conducted at
the commodious Dolby Theatre of Los Angeles.
Of course, frequently the Oscar show is known to have
sprung surprises – pleasant and unpleasant. Allegations of
‘politically-correct’ and ‘totally biased’ winners have been endemic.
Any which way, the Oscars remain the most prestigeous
film awards of its ilk. And here’s my – SpotboyE.com’s – predictions for the
winners, in 12 major categories, who might just sashay away with the shiny
statuettes, come Sunday.
